A single glass of wine can reveal more than a story; my winemaking history begins with the love of nature.
When you nourish love, passion and respect for the vineyard, you are able to bring out the very best from the vines which will be then reflected within the glass.
This love carried me to the New World, where winemaking was undertaken with innovation and the latest scientific research. During the 20 years that have passed since I finished wine school, I have focused my continued education in chemistry and microbiology with a particular emphasis on the taste and smell – the vital elements for the creation of good wines. Over the years, my passion for wine has developed along with my constant dream that I would one day cultivate my own vineyard. That day has arrived and my dream has become reality.
At Săhăteni, I rely on people who have dedicated their lives to working in the vineyards. Here we make wine for those like us, who skillfully do their job with rigor and passion, people who know their goals. We don’t fabricate a perfect, sweet story without foundation or claim to have the secret knowledge of wine. Good wine depends on the grace of nature, but evolves thanks to the skill and passion of the viticulturists and winemakers. Wine is what we offer you at our best, every year, from our cellar.
This is my belief and it can be found in each and every bottle of wine I make.

Aurelia Vișinescu is a reputable oenologist and co-owner of Domeniile Sahateni winery. In love with nature and flowers, Aurelia attended Horticulture University where the contact with wine and winemaking changed her destiny.
Her enthusiasm for winemaking knowledge and the story behind every harvest turned into passion which Aurelia has been nourishing for more than 20 years. Her native curiosity, the will to know and the experience achieved in time brought Aurelia international recognition.
The wines bearing Aurelia Visinescu signature are special wines, with personality; they are made with care, dedication and artistry.
The vineyards are in the heart of Dealu Mare wine region, well known for its high quality grapes and wine production, on the hills surrounding the Carpathian Mountains, benefiting from different types of soil from brownish to limestone clay.
The 82 ha of the company are located in Săhăteni, Năeni and Fintesti villages lying from the bottom of the hill were the whites and Pinot Noir are growing up to the top where we cultivate the late ripening reds on the South exposure.
The growing varieties are native ones such Fetească Albă, Tămâioasă Românească, Fetească Neagră and international varieties – Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon.
We currently own 82 ha of vines concentrated around the winery, where we invested in high performance technology and facilities to produce and age wine.
Our winery has crushing facilities of 1.000 to per season, with two separate production lines, complete automated controlled fermentation for both white and red wines. All machinery used in production process is alimentary steel.
The underground cellar equipped with Romanian, French and Russian oak barriques, provides excellent ageing conditions to special wine batches. Bottled wine is stored in our warehouse while another part of the wine is bottle aged in the cellar.
Aurelia’s winemaking style combines New World and Old World techniques and we produce small batches of wine, starting from 2500 bottles to 20.000, depending on the harvests.
